| Tuesday; Sep-11-2001 My office is two blocks North of the World Trade Center. This morning I called my wife to assure her that I was OK after some "random/unintended" plane crashed into WTC-North. While I was talking to her and craning my neck to look out my window. A second plane swooped out of the West. Banked hard but steady to the North. And directly crashed into the southern face of the South tower. I felt the impact and I was looking right at it. I gave my wife a special hug this evening. Let's all pray for peace, understanding and justice. Friday; Sep-14 Thankfully, all the people in my Q-tools group a Moody's Risk Management Services have been contacted. More broadly, I know of no reason to positively believe that anyone in the 99 Church Street offices of Moody's Investors Services was lost. Unfortunately, I'm still waiting to hear from certain colleagues and friends. My house now displays the American flag. Monday; Sep-24 My office is in the debris zone so my group has a temporary space in mid-town. This was my 1st time back into Manhattan. What struck me were the many hundreds of "missing" persons notices posted on every light post, phone booth and blank wall. One said simply, "Help me find my daddy." Friday; Nov-9 I visited my office again. The neighborhood looks remarkably cleaned-up. You can hardly tell that 3,000 people died just 200 yards away. Tuesday; Sep-11-2002 I have always been motivated to make the most of my limited time. Next to this, I now feel more strongly for a certain justice in human affairs. -- Greg M. Gupton |
